Formation of the Global Trust Exchange
GTX is in early stages of formation, currently an informal network of participating
individuals and organizations. It will soon be incorporated as a separate non-profit, member-governed
corporation. Founding Members of GTX will work together to help launch the Global Trust Exchange and to set its governing principles, policies and direction.
A major purpose of the GTX will be to take over responsibility for the secure storage and safe exchange of data shared within its network of participating user hosts and members. This task encompasses not only insuring that technical solutions for privacy and exchange are in place, but also insuring that social solutions and agreements are also carefully developed and carried out effectively.
These tasks make GTX's structure as a member-governed non-profit corporation essential due to the enormous trust that all members and users must place in GTX to protect the privacy of their data and to operate the system in a way that is always in their collective best interests.
Revenue for GTX will come from membership fees and from a share of revenue generated by the activities and referrals of GTX user-members. Fees will be used to help fund the development of core technology and to pay for needed services and software licenses provided by technology and other partners, and to cover GTX's own staffing and operating costs.
The Global Trust Exchange will be autonomous, but will have the ability to partner or merge with other organizations that share its purpose and vision.
