Purpose and Principles
Purpose
The purpose of GTX is to take
responsibility for the infrastructure of an
exchange of trust, including the secure storage and safe
exchange of data shared within its network of participating user
hosts and members.
The purpose of GTX will be carried out in a way that fulfills
its vision of operating an exchange of trust to
help individuals and organizations achieve their aspirations in
peaceful, creative ways, and especially in ways that help bring
about positive and sustainable transformations of business,
government, and society.
Principles
The core Principles of GTX are intended to be
the fewest and most fundamental guidelines that needed to
fulfill the Purpose of GTX .
Since GTX is still in formation and recruiting Founding Members,
this initial list of principles, below, is open to amendment.
However, all who wish to become Founding Members should agree in
spirit with these basic Principles, with the understanding that
changes can be made which support the Purpose of the GTX and the
basic intent of the following principles.
In pursuit of the Purpose of the Global
Trust Exchange, each and every part of the GTX will abide by the
following Principles in making decisions and conducting
activities of the GTX.
Principles Guiding Organizational Behavior and Decisions
- Each and every part of the GTX will conduct deliberations
and make decisions by bodies and methods that reasonably
represent all relevant and affected parties and are
dominated by none.
- Each and every part of the GTX will have the right to
self-organize at any time, on any scale, in any form or
around any activity consistent with the Purpose and
Principles.
- GTX will vest authority, perform functions and use
resources in the smallest or most local part that includes
all relevant and affected parties.
- The GTX will assure to the best of its ability, now
and in the future, that each member's instructions regarding
access and use of their profile, relationship, and other
information will be accurately carried out.
- The GTX will work to ensure that technologies used by GTX
will as much as possible be interoperable with related
systems operated by other groups.
Principles Guiding Individual Rights and Responsibilities
- Membership in the GTX will be open to any individual or
institution subscribing to its Purpose and Principles.
- Each member will have the right to restrict access to, and
to modify or delete any information that he or she has
contributed, and to remain anonymous, according to his or
her instructions.
- Each member will be truthful in describing all components
of their personal and professional profiles and their
relationships to others.
- No member will attempt by any means to gain access to or
use of another member's information without obtaining the
permission of the controlling member or of that member's
software access agent.
- Any member who believes he or she has gained access to
information that he or she was not intended to view, will
agree to not retain or take advantage of such information,
and will report the apparent error to operators of the
Global Trust Exchange.
- Behavior of members, staff, partners, and external parties
will to the maximum extent possible be educed rather than
compelled by force or by threat of force.
However, the GTX will have the right to discipline or expel
any member who has been found to harm or threaten others
through disregard of the Purpose and Principles of the GTX.
