Membership in the STN is free and open to all professionals who work in or contribute in other ways to organizations, agencies, and foundations committed to social development  through peaceful means, including work in these fields: 

• International development,
• Environmental protection.
• Economic development,
• Civic effectiveness and citizen participation.
• Social Justice and equal opportunity,
• Education,
• Health care, housing, and social welfare. 

Members should be currently involved in these activities as executives, staff, board members, advisors/consultants, members, volunteers, or donors.

In addition all members must agree with the following basic rules of conduct.

 1. You agree to act in good faith to protect the privacy and interests of other participating individuals and organizations. 

2. You agree to be sensitive to other participant's desire for privacy, including the privacy of their contacts.  You agree to not add individuals’  names or contact information derived from use of the Social Transformation Network or LinkedIn to email lists or other mailing lists without explicit permission of those individuals.  You also agree to not cold-call people found through use of this Network. 

3.  You understand that when you join the STN you will also be joining the LinkedIn network as an invidivual user, if you are not already a LinkedIn member).  All information you contribute to LinkedIn will be protected according to promises made by LinkedIn in the LinkedIn Privacy Policy.
